Drywall and Plaster

We hang, tape and finish drywall to a paint-ready surface — full rooms, ceilings, patches and repairs. In older homes around the Clinton area, that often means working alongside original plaster: skim-coating damaged sections, replacing failed areas with blueboard or drywall, and blending the transition so you cannot find it after paint. Water-damaged ceilings are a specialty; we find and confirm the leak is resolved before closing anything back up.

Framing & Drywall FAQs

How dusty is drywall work?

Sanding creates fine dust, but containment keeps it in the work area. We use plastic barriers, floor protection and vacuum-assisted sanding where appropriate, and we clean up daily.

Can you just patch, or do I need the whole wall redone?

Most damage can be patched and blended invisibly. Large areas of failing plaster or repeated water damage sometimes make replacement the better value — we quote both ways when it is a close call.

Does removing a wall require a permit?

If the wall is load-bearing, yes — with an appropriately sized beam and inspections. Non-bearing walls are simpler but may still involve relocating wiring, which we coordinate with a licensed electrician.
