Insert or Full-Frame Replacement?
An insert window fits inside the existing frame — faster and less expensive, but only as good as the frame around it. If the sill or jambs are rotted, or the original frame is out of square and leaking air, a full-frame replacement with new flashing and insulation is the honest fix. We inspect each opening and recommend per window, not one-size-fits-all.
Why Installation Quality Matters Here
In our climate, the gap between the window unit and the framing is where comfort is won or lost. Proper installation means correct flashing that sheds water out — not into — the wall, low-expansion foam sealing, and careful exterior trim work. A mid-grade window installed well outperforms a premium window installed poorly.
Doors & Windows FAQs
Can you replace windows in winter?
Yes — windows are swapped one at a time, with each opening exposed only briefly. Spring through fall is more comfortable, but winter replacements are routine.
My door sticks every summer. Can that be fixed without replacing it?
Often yes. Seasonal sticking usually means humidity swelling or settled hinges, which adjustment or planing can resolve. If the frame itself has shifted or rotted, we will show you and explain options.
